I AM THANKFUL FOR SO MANY THINGS…. I BET YOU ARE TOO!
The four spices you need to make Pumpkin spice blend
- Ground ginger
- Ground cloves
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg
Making pumpkin spice blend-no need to buy the premade spice blend- just gather your spices and make what you need for how many number of pies you are baking. Pumpkin spice is our go-to ingredient for baking in the fall, and it’s even better when it’s homemade. easy peasy…. love to use up spices, it’s not a good thing to carry the same spices too long ( more than 6 months), they lose their potency. A good indication of proper spice usage is after the holidays you should have to replenish the pantry.

What do you do with the pumpkin spice blend?????
You can make pumpkin pie! ManyThanksgiving desserts always include pumpkin pie, so I’ve included a full proof pumpkin pie recipe for you. I wasn’t always a fan of pumpkin pie until I started making it. The stuff that they sell at the supermarket looks so manufactured that I just wasn’t feeling the look and texture. But now that I make it, I enjoy it. There is something to be said about having a connection with the food that one makes. You have skin in the game.
These pies are ready to go into the oven. I made filling for 2 pies, I filled one pie and 4 small individual pies. Sort of like your personal pan pizza. When It’s done baking, let it cool down, then I like to make cinnamon whipped cream and pipe it on top. YUM! ( totally optional)
I hope you enjoyed my recipe. If you make it, let me know and leave a comment on my blog. I would love to hear some feedback. Since you are reading my blog, maybe you would like to follow me on Instagram ,Facebook, Pinterest.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful, what better way to express thankfulness than with food.
