HOW TO MAKE 3 FABULOUS SUMMER DRINKS
You’re having a party and you don’t want to buy a bunch of different alcohols and mixers. Keep it simple. Make 3 Fabulous Summer drinks in a pitcher. Pitcher drinks simplify bar service. All you have to do is pour over ice and garnish. Cheers!
Firstly, plan on using the multitudes of abundant, delicious, local fruit available in So. Florida to make these summer drinks. Flavor is everything. I’m big on using natural ingredients & keeping the carbon foot print relatively close.
Whether you’re HOSTING a party or INVITED to one, a Featured drink sets the tone. People love to try a “featured drink”. If you make it light and refreshing with fruity garnishes, it will be a hit. Your friends will think you’re a mixologist. Below are 3 fabulous drinks to share with your family and friends.
I. GREEN TEA MINT MOJITO
SERVING SIZE – 2 PPL
fresh mint- 10 leaves
8 oz of brewed cooled green tea
1 limes sliced w its juice
2 ounces of simple syrup
4 ½ ounces of bacardi light rum
Garnishes – kiwi, mint, raspberry……
For a Pitcher increase serving sizes by 5X and omit the ice.
Simple syrup: is a pastry and bartenders secret ingredient. It is equal part of water and sugar, cooked until dissolved. Cool and keep in squeeze bottle. This keeps in the fridge for a very long time. I usually make a batch. 4 ounces of water with 4 ounces of sugar.
Directions:In a pitcher- muddle the mint and the simple syrup together. Squish the mint to extract some flavor. Add the fresh lime , pour in the cooled green tea. Add Bacardi. Then ice cubes – shake or stir. Finally, serve over ice. Garnish drink with kiwi, mint and raspberry for color.
II.WATERMELON COCONUT WATER VODKA
1 medium seedless watermelon, scooped pureed and strained.
12 ounces of coconut water
4 ounce of simple syrup ( recipe above)
4 ounce of midori liquor
12 ounces of Vodka
Every where you look there’s fabulous watermelon. The price is right. Lets make some watermelon/coconut water. I will use a medium sized seedless watermelon and cut it up, add it to the blender with 16 ounces of coconut water. I use 365 coconut water from Wholefoods. It tastes great and is reasonably priced.
I blend the watermelon until it’s smooth and very liquified. Then, I use a fine strainer and remove all the pulp. If you didn’t strain the juice, the pulp would eventually settle on the top with the juice on the bottom. Not an appetizing looking drink.
Directions:After you strain the juice, add all the ingredients together in a pitcher and give it a good stir and pour into a tall glass with ice. Garnish w/ watermelon slice and mint. Sugar the rim of the glasses for an cute presentation.
III. FRESH MANGO, PINEAPPLE W ANÊJO PATRON TEQUILA

5 ounces of Tequila
