What is Quick Pickling?
Pickling is the process of extending the life of the freshest seasonal vegetable for later use. Quick pickling is the simplest pickles to make. It lasts about a month in the refrigerator. Pickling becomes a way to savor your favorite freshest ingredient later.
In addition, for those of us who love the texture of pickled vegetables (cool and crisp), the acidity ( refreshing), and the flavor (tangy), it’s just another reason to pickle.
The difference between a quick pickle and a canned pickle is that the quick pickle process is similar to marinating. When you’re Canning, a more savory brine and a water-bath canning process are used to extend the shelf life.
